Solaicx is actively seeking a Supply Chain Director with a customer-centric view who will have responsibility for leading, organizing, and directing the Supply Chain organization. This new position reports to the Chief Operating Officer and the selected candidate will lead the Company’s development of our relationships with strategic vendors as well as efforts in reducing costs while improving quality, service and reliability. The key responsibility is to develop and maintain relationships with key strategic vendors for critical materials and components including silicon, crucibles, and graphite and processing equipment components while developing the Materials function for the Company.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain close, synergistic relationships with key strategic vendors for critical materials and components
- Develop world-class supply chain practices and procedures within GSC.
- Negotiate supply contracts
- Represent Solaicx interests in interaction with global strategic suppliers and supply chain alliance partners.
- Oversee the Material management and purchasing function companywide; develop appropriate Materials policies, process and systems to support a large-scale (4200M+) operation.
- Work with Operations management to develop a standard by which to measure the successes of supply chain activities on a Total Cost basis.
- Determine which goods and services should be contracted and at what geographical limitations
- Identify and develop a vendor/partner evaluation and monitoring program that includes but not limited to Quality, Delivery, total sots, technology, services etc.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications
BA/BS required in Engineering, MA/MS Engineering or Business preferred
Experience Qualifications/Skills
- 7-10 years of Leadership experience working with in the Supply Chain field required.
- Self motivated; bias for action
- Effective negotiating and influencing skills
- Project management skills
- Must possess Operational systems skills (MRP, etc.) in an integrated ERP environment.
- Ability to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and manage associated stress.
- Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to travel 15-20% of time.
Prior experience in semi-conductor, capital equipment and/or high volume process manufacturing a plus.
