With
over twenty years experience in technology start-ups,
John Sedgwick has an established reputation in
marketing, sales management, and business development.
As VP of Sales for Multipoint Networks Inc., a
pioneer in wireless data transmission, he established
OEM and international distribution networks, offshore
manufacturing agreements, and was instrumental
in securing venture capital financing. Multipoint
Networks merged with Wireless Inc. and recently
was acquired by Interwave Wireless Inc.
At California Microwave, Mr.
Sedgwick established a new group chartered to
develop advanced multi-protocol RF systems that
were the precursor to present day wireless Internet
Systems. In 1994, he founded and became President
of Kb/Tel International. In 1998, the company
was sold to the national telephone carrier of
Mexico, Telefonos de Mexico (Telmex).
Recently, Mr. Sedgwick co-founded
and served as a general partner of Virtual Founders,
LLC and Virtual Founders Funds. Virtual Founders
mentored and provided seed investment capital
to start-up companies. Three out of the seven
companies invested companies are semiconductor
or semiconductor capital equipment manufacturers.
Mr. Sedgwick holds a BSAE (Aeronautical
Engineering) from San Jose State University.
