COMMERCIAL TEAM:   Jeff Osorio, Chief Financial Officer

Jeff Osorio is a seasoned financial executive with nearly thirty years of experience in operationally oriented companies in Silicon Valley. Before joining the Solaicx executive team, he was Corporate Controller and interim Chief Financial Officer of Cypress Semiconductor, a billion dollar manufacturer and distributor of semiconductors, where he was involved in the spin-out of SunPower Corporation, now a customer and potential partner of Solaicx. Mr. Osorio has also been a CFO of two other publicly traded companies in addition to holding executive and senior financial management positions in companies ranging from $30M to nearly $5B. Mr. Osorio will develop and execute on Solaicx’s financial strategy in order to drive profitability for the growing company. Mr. Osorio’s financial and significant operational expertise stems from his experience in executive finance and controller roles at such industry icons as Cypress Semi, Silicon Graphics, Spectra-Physics, Atari, and Xerox.

As a financial leader, Jeff’s practical approach to Corporate Finance and a get-it-done attitude have earned him the respect of many well-known Valley executives. With a collaborative and open style, Jeff is recognized by peers and staff as a leader who develops and implements strategy and process and builds well-trained, resourceful and committed teams dedicated to the success of the business. In 2002, Hispanic Business named Jeff as a member of the “Corporate Elite”, one of the top 500 Hispanic executives in the United States.

In addition to his work in the corporate world, Mr. Osorio has been a member of the Accounting Advisory Board and the Dean’s Advisory Board at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, as well as a member of the Accounting Advisory Board and now a member of the MBA faculty at Santa Clara University. He has developed and delivered multiple finance-for-non-financial-management courses that have been utilized by companies around the world, including Line of Sight©: Basic Business Principles for Every Employee. He has also been recognized for his work on Scorecards and Executive Dashboards and has been a featured speaker on the subject.

He has also been active at St. Simon Parish in Los Altos on the Parish Finance Council and School Advisory Board. In his spare time, he enjoys coaching youth sports – basketball and baseball, primarily, with an occasional foray into soccer “but it’s really not my game”.

Mr. Osorio has an MBA and a Bachelor of Science in Commerce degree with a concentration in Accounting from Santa Clara University.
Jeff met his wife of 21 years Penny while they attended Santa Clara University together. They live in Cupertino with their two sons, Thomas, a sophomore at Santa Clara University, and James, a sophomore at St. Francis High School in Mountain View.
