OPPORTUNITY: COST ACCOUNTING MANAGER

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Summary: Solaicx produces low-cost, high-efficiency silicon for the photovoltaic (PV) industry at our mass production facility in Portland, Oregon.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and give necessary supervision to professional cost accounting activities
• Install cost control procedures and provide staff supervision over cost systems and methods
• Supervise the compilation of periodic statements of product cost and prepare appropriate operating reports
• Follow up expenditures of appropriations and supervise the assembly of data and comparisons of various budget items
• Prepare cost analysis for use in contract adjustments
• Exclude managers whose staffs consist of all nonexempt accounting jobs
• Review completed product manufacturing costs and reviews and analyzes unit costs of finished products
• Conduct special cost studies for use in setting selling prices and establishing inventory prices for in-process and finished products
• Study economy for various projects and programs
• Prepare profit and loss statements for individual products
• Supervise the maintenance of inventory records of products and direct other statistical and tabulating services
• Develop or improve methods of calculating and controlling costs
• Compile cost data for use in developing operating budgets
• Direct cost audits and their interpretation that will assist management in directing and controlling operations

 

Qualifications:

• BA with a focus in Accounting Business Finance
• 5-10 years experience in cost accounting, preferably within a manufacturing environment
• ERP Software, Syspro a plus
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong analyzing skills
